#HGG Origami Owl Review & GIVEAWAY

As you know, my favorite Duck, Carrie, & I are hosting this amazing Holiday Gift Guide. (Because you don't want to be the bearer of bad gifts, do you?) Let's keep it moving with some bling, shall we?

Who doesn't love jewelry? How about custom jewelry? I know that I do. So when the lovely Lauren approached me about reviewing (and holding a giveaway) for Origami Owl, I was all about it! But first let me give you a little info about the face behind this insanely, amazing business.

Origami Owl's story starts with a teenager and a dream. Our company was founded by 14 year-old Isabella in the fall of 2010. Fueled by a goal to raise enough money to buy a car for her 16th birthday, she started the business with $350 worth of babysitting money and a matched contribution from her parents. She sold her unique line of personalized jewelry at home parties and events and quickly realized that this brand has an energy all its own. How fab is that? Isabella put her teenage mind to something, and she went out and got it. I. LOVE. IT.

Then I received my living locket. You choose your own chain, your locket, & the charms that will ultimately be housed within the all glass locket. Each charm can tell part of your own story. A keepsake like no other. The packaging was too cute:

Then within the packaging, you have a package that is the epitome of Origami.

But my locket...well, 'cute' doesn't do it justice. It's stunning.

I actually did put some thought behind my charms. Because I really wanted it to mean something special to me. I started with a crown. Because I'll always be my very own Queen. Then I threw a significant initial in the mix. I chose a cross, also. Not because I'm religious, per se. But because when Middle Man was little, he used to think that every church had his name splayed atop their roofs. I've never looked at a cross the same since. (The reason MM is so significant to this locket is another post.) Finally, I picked a set of wings. Because no matter what life throws me, I'm going to fly above it.
