Red Carpet Box Review - November

We have all been there & done that when it comes to cosmetics subscription services. I don't know about you guys, but I've always been left with a bitter taste in my mouth. Did I really just pay x amount of dollars for samples?

When Red Carpet Box approached me to share their November edition with you, I was kind of ho-hum about it. (Because I was sure I'd end up with four tiny samples and be disappointed, yet again.) I was wrong.

November's Red Carpet Box includes:

Korres Eye Shadow
Korres Lip Gloss Sample
Avon Cosmetics
Necklace
Borghese Nail Lacquer
Betsey Johnson or Big Buddha Sunglasses
Bonus-Eye serum or perfume
*Special surprise from Urban Decay!

This month's sponsor Nailtiques has also provided the Nailtiques Nail Protein and Color Laquer. (You know I love my nail polish!)

Any samples thrown in are considered "love bonuses" & I'm all about a bonus.

Each month you are GUARANTEED a purse or wallet, 2-3 full sized, upscale cosmetics, and 2-3 pieces of costume jewelry. Subscriptions do not automatically renew. It's month to month, so no commitments! Payment can be made via PayPal only. (Yes, my Canadian lovers---you can sign up, too!)

Each Red Carpet Box is $25. ($32.54 with shipping & taxes.) Again, no commitments, no gimmicks. Just fabulous products!

The Betsey Johnson sunglasses are funky and offer 100% UV protection. I goggled them and while I can't find this specific pair, $50 is a fairly safe assumption. (So you're actually making money on this awesome Red Carpet Box with the shades alone.)

I also promised in my YouTube video (which I'll embed at the bottom & expect everyone to watch & comment on! My YouTube Channel needs some love!) swatches of the products. So here those are:

From tom to bottom, left to right:

Nailtiques Nail Protein & Color Laquer- 2 coats,  Dries quick, great coverage, doesn't chip! Also, the nail protein included really strengthens your nails, when used as suggested. I'm absolutely smitten!

Borghese Nail Laquer in Romanza Ruby- 3 coats. Iridescent, with a little bit of sparkle. Takes a little extra to get optimal coverage. For those who like a more shimmery polish color, this one is great.

Avon Feeling Fine Ultra Thin Eye Liner in Cobalt Jewel- Don't be afraid of ditching your black liner for colored liners. Dark blue looks amazing on everyone! Also a great beginner's eyeliner.

Directly under the eyeliner:

Korres Eye Shadow in Metallic Grey. Even coverage, choose to apply lightly for just a hint of color, or build the shadow to give it a darker look. Great color for Fall/Winter!

Korres Lip Gloss Sample - Cherry Lip Gloss. Sheer with a touch of sparkle and dare I say I detect a subtle hint of cherry flavor? Could be my imagination. But I love this gloss. Not sticky, applies nicely, and has pretty good staying power.

After doing my initial Red Carpet Box review & YouTube video, I decided to tally up the cost of product that was included in November's RCB.

Here is what I came up with:

Korres Eye Shadow - $17
Korres Lip Gloss Mini - $7
Avon Feeling Fine Eyeliner - $8
Necklace - unsure
Borghese Nail Laquer - $3
Betsey Johnson Sunglasses - I haven't pinpointed my exact pair, but $50 is a safe guess.
21 Drops Sample - Full sized bottles are $29, so I'm going to low ball and say $3?
Nailtiques Nail Protein & Color - $20
Small Purse - There is no brand name, so I searched around and found a discount store; (again, just to low ball) and a similar style/sized bag would be roughly $20--but let's say $15 for giggles.

TOTAL: $123 worth of product...at least!

(Keep in mind I didn't factor in the necklace or the surprise Urban Decay item that November's boxes have!)

So it's very safe to say, you're getting paid to be a Red Carpet Box subscriber.

I've always been wary of these sort of subscription services, too. Not only that, but I don't want to spend a huge amount of money on something I rarely wear o.O

This sounds like it was WELL worth the $25 you would pay for it though. And I LOVE those sunglasses! Lol

Great review :)
